Bedford School Board to re-vote on Stewartsville Elementary closure after legal flaws

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Bedford County parent and congressional delegate, Joy Powers, announced the Bedford County School Board has acknowledged it cannot defend its March 12, vote to close Stewartsville Elementary School.

Powers filed a lawsuit that challenges the legal validity of the school board’s vote on the basis that residents were not given enough notice to participate in the decision-making process to close the school.
