On March 28, 2026, at approximately 8:44 a.m., officers from the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety responded to a 911 call reporting an individual on the roof of a residence armed with a firearm.
The suspect, identified as Tiwart Bachir Kyorkian, was observed standing on the roof with a shotgun, allegedly pointing it toward individuals and yelling profanities, including racial remarks, at people working in the backyard of a neighboring residence.
Officers responded promptly and were able to safely take Kyorkian into custody without further incident. Due to the nature of the incident, officers served Kyorkian with a Gun Violence Restraining Order (GVRO), issued by a Sonoma County Superior Court magistrate, which requires the surrender of all firearms to law enforcement pending a scheduled hearing.
