DESOTO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — On March 31, 2026, Caddo Parish and DeSoto Parish deputies responded to an incident where they found two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was transported in critical condition, while the other was pronounced deceased.

The incident occurred just before 9 p.m. on Interstate 49 near the Desoto/Caddo Parish line.
Both Caddo and Desoto deputies received reports of a black Nissan Sentra found in the median of the freeway and responded. When police arrived, they discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds inside the vehicle.
A male passenger from DeSoto Parish was pronounced dead at the scene, while a female driver from the same parish was rushed to a nearby hospital and remains in critical-but-stable condition as of April 1…
