More housing units are coming to Central City, as Salt Lake City recently approved a pitch to add a new mixed-use development along 400 East.
Members of the Salt Lake City Council unanimously approved a master plan and zoning amendment for The Citizen 2, a multifamily development that would be built at roughly 527, 537, and 539 South 400 East. The council did not discuss the project before voting to approve the proposal last week.
The .41-acre property was rezoned from RMF-45 to MU-5, and the proposal also updated the Central Community Master Plan’s land use map from medium-high density residential to high density mixed-use. The Salt Lake City Planning Commission gave a positive recommendation to the project in December…
