SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Several locations on University of Utah campus have been highlighted as places where the measles virus has been identified and is spreading.
On Wednesday, the Salt Lake County Health Department (SLCoHD) announced that they have identified several new measles exposure locations between 3/24/2026 and 3/28/2026, at a time when measles cases are rising throughout Utah. Several of those locations are on University of Utah campus.
According to SLCoHD, the following locations are exposure locations:
- Alta View Hospital Emergency Department on 3/23 from 3:11 p.m. to 6:33 p.m. and 3/24 from 9:45 p.m. to 11:34 p.m.
- University of Utah Sorenson Molecular Biotech Building on 3/24 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- University of Utah James Talmage Building on 3/24 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on 3/25 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- University of Utah A. Ray Olpin Student Union on 3/24 from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and 3/25 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- Shoreline Student Housing, Building 830 on 3/26 and 3/27
- Urban Sailor Coffee on 3/28 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Crocker Science Center on 3/28 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
If you were at any of these locations on the listed dates and times, Utah Department of Health and Human Services officials recommend checking for symptoms over the next few weeks.
