I Saw You, Cheers and Jeers: “Somewhere between a dream and reality, I saw you and couldn’t look away.”

I SAW YOU

DOWNTOWN DAME: You were a statuesque brunette clad in black, I was a guy in a shirt with dolphins on it that muttered “shit” out loud a half-second after you walked by. I feel like I also made a funny face while I was staring? My sister shut a door on my head when we were kids, it explains a lot. I’d like to apologize in person if possible, though I can’t promise my behavior will ever improve over the years.

RE: TO THE WHIMSICAL WOMAN: Thank you! Cheers to the sweetest elderly gentleman in our nursing home. My days are filled with laughter and joy because of you! xoxo, your favorite nurse Christina 🙂

‘BILL’ ISN’T YOUR REAL NAME, IS IT? You came from the mountain on a Saturday night, and he and I had been out all day. Somewhere between a dream and reality, I saw you and couldn’t look away. I took your phone and stole a moment. He saw you too, and for a while it felt like we were on the edge of something very real. It started with the Lord, and suddenly we found ourselves winding down a corridor of curiosity and anticipation. We’ve imagined this for years, but it never existed beyond us… until you. Timing and communication failed us, but not intention. The current was undeniably strong, and I regret not letting it pull me under that night. We’re sorry for the way it ended.

CHEERS

SPOKANE STANDING UP FOR AMERICA’S PRECIOUS VALUES: Thousands of people came together in Spokane and celebrated America’s 250th birthday at No Kings 3 last Saturday. And thousands more people showed their enthusiastic support, waving, honking, and waving flags and signs as they drove along N. Division. Your friends, neighbors, relatives and a whole lot of other people were there standing up for America’s values of freedom, fairness and common decency. Thanks to the organizers, everyone who attended and to the Spokane Police, as always doing their job to protect our right to speak our minds…
