Man flees downtown Reno encounter, discarded package reveals significant fentanyl seizure

A man is facing multiple charges after investigators say he ran from detectives and discarded a package that later led to a larger drug seizure in downtown Reno.

On March 26, detectives with the Regional Narcotics Unit developed information about a man suspected of trafficking fentanyl who had recently arrived from California. Investigators learned the man claimed to have about one-half pound of pure, uncut fentanyl.

Through the investigation, detectives identified the man as 65-year-old Stuart Stanley of Indio, California…
