Hawaiian Humane Society seeks 100 fosters after storm surge of strays

HONOLULU (Island News) – The Hawaiian Humane Society (HHS) is urgently seeking 100 new foster families within two weeks to address a significant surge in stray animals following the recent Kona low storm.

HHS’ new 100 Foster Challenge was made following the significant and ongoing responses to stray animals post-storm. Since the storm, Field Operations teams, rescue partners and good Samaritans across Oahu have brought in more than 280 pets, with the highest number of those being dogs.

HHS currently has more than 600 animals in its care across its two campuses with offsite adoption partners, and more continue to arrive each day…
