BARBERTON — A lifelong Barberton resident will turn 100 April 24, and all who know and love her are invited to help celebrate.
Virginia Haynes, who lives now at Barberton Post Acute, will mark her 100th birthday with an open-house style party at 2:30 p.m. that afternoon at the facility. A second party will take place at 5:30 p.m. She also will celebrate with family the evening before in Hartville.
Haynes’ daughter-in-law, Lorinda Vasuta, of Sharon, said Haynes lived most of her life in the house her first husband built on Hermann Street. She completed ninth grade, then quit school to take a job as an usher at the Park Theatre (now Magical Theatre Company).
