Albany Mayor Dorcey Applyrs hired Brown and Weinraub Advisors to advocate for the city at the state level under a four-month contract running through June 30. The agreement will cost taxpayers about $18,000.
The mayor’s office says the goal is to help secure additional state funding to address challenges including public safety, housing and the city’s budget deficit. The contract was signed roughly two weeks before the mayor implemented a spending freeze in response to a projected $22 million deficit…
