One-million-square-foot data center approved in Allen Township

The Allen Township Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a final plan amendment that would convert a 1,011,808 square-foot warehouse along Liberty Drive into a data center. The decision was made during the township’s March 24 public meeting, following a presentation by Prologis Lehigh Valley, the owners of the property.

The warehouse, at 2500 Liberty Drive, was approved in 2016 and constructed in 2023. Prologis requested a change of use for the building from a warehouse to one that would provide “wholesale storage of electronic information,” a use that is permitted in the property’s zone.

“There is no sleight of hand or false intention,” attorney Joseph Fitzpatrick, representing Prologis, said of this definition, which some residents called “a stretch.”…
