The Federal, an upscale seafood and steak restaurant in Waltham, has closed its doors after seven years in business, according to a notice posted on its website.
The restaurant, which opened in 2018 at 74 Tower Rd. billed itself as a “seafood & chophouse,” serving oysters, crab cakes, chowder, filet, and shellfish towers.
In February, managing partner Richard Brackett told The Waltham Times he hoped a proposed development at 1265 Main St. — including a hotel and residences — would help bring more customers to the area…
