Boston store owner pleads guilty to millions in SNAP fraud

A Boston convenience store owner pleaded guilty Tuesday in connection with a scheme to obtain millions of dollars in fraudulent SNAP benefits.

Antonio Bonheur, a 74-year-old Mattapan resident, pleaded guilty to one count of food stamp fraud and one count of wire fraud, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Bonheur was the owner and operator of Jesula Variety Store, a small convenience store in Mattapan that reported hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program transactions each month, prosecutors said…
