Sarasota restaurateur Daniel Dokko is at it again. Kurō Sushi joins Dokko’s portfolio of restaurants, which includes two JPan Sushi and Grills, and Korê Steakhouse. At the 120-seat Kurō on Lakewood Ranch’s Main Street, small plates, like spicy tuna toast on brioche bread, accompany grilled skewers with proteins like wagyu or shrimp roasted over a charcoal-fueled Japanese robata grill. You’ll also find inventive sushi rolls and even a multi-course omakase experience (the chef chooses the dishes), which changes nightly.
