MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – The first time NASA has sent astronauts towards the moon since 1972, Artemis 2, the mission marks a major step for human space exploration.
The mission, described by Professor Joe Carson at the College of Charleston’s Department of Physics and Astronomy, is seen as a stepping stone to actually landing on the moon in the future. Echoing this sentiment, Storm Team 2’s Chief Meteorologist Rob Fowler shared his own perspective.
“I remember growing up as a kid, and we would roll the TV into our classroom and watch the launches of those heading to the moon to walk on the moon,” explained Storm Team 2’s Chief Meteorologist, Rob Fowler. He continued, “These folks are going to go not to the moon, but beyond the moon.”…
