RURAL HALL, N.C. — More than 100 residents packed Rural Hall’s town hall meeting on Wednesday night to voice opposition to a proposed AI data center that would sit directly across the street from Town Hall.
The proposed facility would consist of four buildings on 128 acres in the heart of the Forsyth County community. Most speakers at the meeting said they do not want the development in their neighborhood.
“We don’t need a data center this close to our residential area,” one resident said. Another questioned why the site couldn’t be placed somewhere more remote: “Why can you not put it in a more rural area? Not right across from Town Hall?”…
