Officials with DeKalb County Superior Court and local law enforcement are asking the public to be aware of a scam being reported throughout the area in which callers try to steal from victims by making false claims about jury duty.
“Individuals are reporting they have received calls from scammers posing as the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, claiming the resident missed jury service and must pay a fine to avoid arrest. Callers may instruct victims to purchase pre-paid cards or provide personal information. This is a scam,” said officials.
