AAA urges caution as pedestrian traffic rises in warmer months

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – As warmer weather brings more people outdoors, the risk of pedestrian crashes on busy roads and at intersections increases, according to AAA.

A report from the Governors Highway Safety Association shows that in 2024, U.S. drivers struck and killed more than 7,000 pedestrians. More than three-quarters of those deaths occurred after dark, and nearly two-thirds happened in areas without sidewalks.
