Hendersonville police link man to reported Walmart thefts nationwide

Investigation by the Hendersonville Police Department led to the recent arrest of an out-of-state man said to be linked to a series of nationwide thefts at Walmart stores.

According to court records, HPD officers responded on Jan. 30 to the Walmart on North Anderson Lane in Hendersonville after a complainant said the subject took a laptop computer and left the store without paying.

Police were able to track the subject’s vehicle, which was found to be registered to Jireh Elijah Thomas, 29, of Oak Park, Mich. Walmart personnel reportedly confirmed Thomas as the suspect from his driver’s license photo and further investigation allegedly linked him to at least 46 similar incidents in Walmart stores across the country. Investigators also reportedly learned that Thomas had been trespasses from all Walmart stores in 2024…
