AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo VA Health Care System’s Whole Health Department is hosting its first mobile food pantry on April 18 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Thomas E. Creek VA Medical Center.
According to officials with the Amarillo VA, the pantry is in partnership with High Plains Food Bank.

“The goal for this mobile food pantry is to address food insecurities among Veterans,” said Wade Melick, Whole Health Program Manager. “In Whole Health, our goal is to support our Veterans’ overall health and well-being to improve their quality of life.”
Officials note that the mobile pantry is on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last, and veterans must show a VA ID card to receive a box.
