CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – Work on the 3rd Avenue Bridge will begin on Monday, closing it to through traffic through October.
The first phase of bridge maintenance and repairs will take place on the east half of the bridge from Mays Island to the east bank of the river. The other side of the bridge from Mays Island to 1st Street SW will stay open for parking until late summer.
Once work on the east half of the bridge is done, crews will move to the west side of the bridge to begin the second phase of work. Itβs expected to last through October…
