Des Moines police hunt for suspect in deadly shooting

DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting on the city’s northeast side.

On March 22, officers with the Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 3600 block of Kennedy Drive. The DMPD said that responding officers located Daniel Lott Sr., 45, inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts, Lott died from his injuries at the scene.

According to the DMPD, the shooting is believed to have been the result of a dispute between the victim and someone he knew. The suspected shooter, however, fled from the scene before officers arrived, the DMPD said.

Now, the DMPD is releasing the name of the person it believes allegedly shot and killed Lott. On Wednesday, the DMPD said it was searching for Davian Lindsey, 28, and that an arrest warrant for first-degree murder had been issued.

The DMPD said it’s believed that Lindsey has fled from the Des Moines area. Lindsey is described as being 5′ 10″ tall and weighing about 175 lbs. He also has multiple tattoos on both arms.
