Felon gets 11 years after Kansas City pursuit and gun arrest

A Kansas City, Missouri, man has been sentenced in federal court for unlawfully possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

Daniel E. Lablance, 46, received an 11-year prison sentence without the possibility of parole from U.S. District Judge Greg Kays after being convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The case stems from an incident on Dec. 10, 2023, when officers responded to a report of a stranded motorist near East 59th Street and Highway 71 in Kansas City.
