DEA’s Prescription Drug Takeback Day 2026 set for April 25

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The DEA’s Omaha division is asking the community to take part in the Drug Enforcement Agency’s 30th annual Drug Takeback Day, set for Saturday, April 25.

The event helps to prevent the misuse of opioids like oxycodone, hydrocodone, codeine, morphine, and other prescription pain medications, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

What qualifies

DEA Omaha and local law enforcement partners will collect tablets, capsules, patches, and other forms of prescription drugs at the takeback event on Saturday, April 25.
