WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Sedgwick County Election Commissioner Laura Rainwater announced the winners of the voting sticker contest at Wednesday’s Board of County Commissioners meeting.
This year, the contest was open to all student age groups and included “Future Voter” stickers. The stickers will be given to children who accompany an adult to the polls.
“I Voted” sticker contest(Sixth to 12th grade)
Rylin Dehncke, a sophomore at Maize South High School, won the contest for the “I Voted” sticker, which was open to students in sixth through 12th grades.
Dehncke’s colorful design showcases multiple Kansas elements, including the state bird of Kansas, the western meadowlark; a barn; grain bin; airplane; wheat stalk; sunflower; the state motto, “Ad Astra Per Aspera”; and a road leading through a prairie to the Kansas State Capitol building…
