Denver’s Imperial Chinese closes after 41 years amid rising costs

DENVER — A long-standing Chinese restaurant in Denver’s Baker neighborhood has shut down unexpectedly.

Imperial Chinese, at 431 South Broadway, closed after 41 years in business, taking down its website and posting a sign on its door stating rising operating costs and “ongoing economic challenges” were to blame.

“We want to sincerely thank our loyal customers, friends and community for your service over the years,” the note reads. “It has been our honor to serve you, celebrate with you, and be part of so many meals, memories and moments.”…
