Officials investigating after sheriff’s deputy shoots, kills man near Martha Lake Wednesday

A Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputy shot and killed a man Wednesday after officers responded to reports of someone armed with a handgun at a house in the Martha Lake area near Lynnwood.

When County Sheriff’s deputies arrived around 5 p.m., they found a man armed with a shotgun at a house near the 16200 block of East Shore Drive in unincorporated Snohomish County, according to a press release from the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team (SMART).

Shots were fired and an officer shot the man. Police didn’t specify who fired first or if the man involved fired any shots. Life-saving measures were performed but the man died on the scene. Neither the homeowners nor the deputies were injured…
