Mercy Chefs deploys to Hawaii amid record flooding

OAHU, HAWAII (WAVY) — The Hawaiian island of Oahu has been battered by flooding in recent weeks, with some areas having seen eight to 12 inches of rain, and with airports and hospitals affected, Portsmouth-based Mercy Chefs has stepped in to offer their help.

During the third week of March, persistent rainfall resulted in runoff and flooding, with more than 230 people have been rescued and hundreds more have been evacuated. While no deaths have been reported, homes have been destroyed.
