Alaskans who competed in this year’s Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Italy are returning home, and the community is getting ready to celebrate.
A special event will be held Friday night at Town Square Park in downtown Anchorage to honor the athletes who represented the state on the world stage and brought home medals.
