I-787 community outreach center to open in Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT)- Gov. Kathy Hochul said a new Albany outreach center is opening to gather public feedback on plans to remake the I-787 corridor.

The governor’s office said the center at 125 State Street will serve as a public hub for reviewing designs, meeting the project team, sharing feedback and getting updates on the effort.

According to the press release, the project is aimed at addressing aging infrastructure and reconnecting downtown Albany with the Hudson River waterfront. The environmental review began in 2025 and is backed by up to $40 million in the FY26 budget…
