MINT HILL, N.C. (WBTV) – A highly contested funeral home project in Mint Hill is now under construction, renewing neighbors’ calls for city leaders to address traffic on a key corridor before the business opens.
The five-acre development is underway near Fairview Road and McWhirter Road, where residents say congestion already makes it difficult to leave their neighborhood.
Michael Vance, who said he has lived off McWhirter Road his entire life, said the community has only one entrance and that delays can run “anywhere from four to 11 minutes” just to turn onto Fairview Road during busy periods…
