Prepare for strong thunderstorms in Northwest Pa. early Friday morning – gusts to hit 50 mph

The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 3:37 a.m. on Friday for strong thunderstorms until 4:15 a.m. for Northern Erie and Southern Erie as well as Crawford County.

Residents may experience wind gusts of up to 50 mph.

“At 3:37 a.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm near Conneaut, moving northeast at 70 mph,” states the weather service. “Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.”…
