HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Fire departments across the country are facing a crisis as the price of new fire trucks has nearly doubled since 2020 and delivery times have more than tripled.

East Limestone Volunteer Fire Department acquired a 2004 Pierce Dash fire truck about a year ago for $105,000. The truck would have cost between $750,000 and $1 million new.
