Knoxville police say a 23-year-old man is in custody after a weekend parking lot assault outside Peyton’s Place left a 19-year-old woman in the hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening.
The attack happened Saturday in the parking lot of Peyton’s Place on Schubert Road. The victim was taken to UT Medical Center, according to police. By Tuesday night, investigators say they had zeroed in on a suspect: 23-year-old Tristan Weatherspoon.
Officers say they found Weatherspoon at an apartment on Cassell Valley Way and took him into custody with help from Crisis Negotiators and the Special Operations Squad. Knoxville police say the investigation is still active and that additional charges could be coming…
