Student hospitalized after science project catches fire at St. Matthews school

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A student was injured and taken to the hospital after a science project went wrong at a Louisville school.

St. Matthews Fire said one student was injured after a high school science project caught fire just after 11 a.m. at Walden School on Westport Road.

The room filled with smoke and there was some fire, St. Matthews Fire said. Students were evacuated from the classroom. A student, accompanied by a teacher, was transported to a local hospital with minor burns, school officials said…
