19th Avenue closures: Traffic, parking impacts over three San Francisco weekends

Caltrans will close parts of 19th Avenue over three spring weekends as it begins the final phase of a major repaving project on one of San Francisco’s busiest corridors, the agency announced Wednesday.

The work starts April 24 and will affect 19th Avenue (State Route 1) between Lincoln Way and Holloway Avenue, according to Caltrans. The project follows a first phase completed in January.

Caltrans said limiting construction to three weekends will reduce the public impact “from 40 to nine days.” During each closure, two lanes are scheduled to be closed, with one lane open for Muni, emergency responders and local access.

19th Avenue closure schedule

  • April 24–27 (70 hours)
    • Northbound 19th Avenue from Sloat Boulevard to Lincoln Way
    • 7 a.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday
  • May 8–11 (70 hours)
    • Southbound 19th Avenue from Lincoln Way to Sloat Boulevard
    • 7 a.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday
  • May 22–25 (75 hours)
