Please tell us about your family: I was born and raised in Savannah. My parents, who are both deceased, raised us with the old adage: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. That has been my mantra throughout my life. I am the second of five siblings, three sisters and one brother, all of whom presently reside in Savannah. Iām married to Joseph Bryant, a retired educator. Our children are grown, and the joy of our lives now centers on our two beautiful grandchildren, Layla and Mendoza (Trae), who live in Jacksonville.
How long have you lived/worked in the Golden Isles? I relocated to St. Simons Island in 2004. I retired from the State of Georgia after working there for 35 years as the regional manager. I managed nine counties, including Glynn and the surrounding counties, which was my introduction to the Golden Isles. I was impressed with its natural beauty, history, the warmth of the community and the beauty of the marshes, which all made the transition seamless.
Where is your hometown, if not here? I was born in Savannah, which is also known for its historic landmarks and fabulous food…
