STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — More than 200 volunteers gathered at Monsignor Farrell High School early Saturday, March 28, to sort and distribute tens of thousands of donated food items as part of the 35th annual Notre Dame Club of Staten Island Bread of Life Food Drive.
Volunteers began work as early as 6:45 a.m., unloading and organizing donations before distributing them to 25 nonprofit food pantries across the borough.
In total, approximately 80,000 food items were collected through contributions from 130 Staten Island public, private and Catholic schools, along with after-school programs, businesses, labor unions and individual donors…
