Roaches, rodent droppings and flies shut down five Palm Beach County restaurants

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — Five Palm Beach County restaurants were temporarily shut down by state inspectors last week after violations that included roaches, rodent droppings, flies, improper food storage, and employee hygiene issues.

The affected restaurants were in Palm Beach Gardens, Haverhill, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, and Greenacres. All later reopened after follow-up inspections, though several required additional follow-up visits.

The Original Pancake House

State inspectors ordered The Original Pancake House shut down March 25 after finding 13 violations, seven of them high-priority.

Among the issues: about 30 rodent droppings inside a nonworking walk-in cooler being used for storage, about 13 live flies in multiple areas including near syrup cups and oranges, and about 14 dead roaches on floors, cords and inside nonworking cooler and freezer units…
