Nothing is better than when you can feel a bit of nostalgia in Amarillo. We lost a bit of our childhood when Toys “R” Us closed down in our city and all around back in 2018. It was the one store where we felt we could get lost for days.
When we became parents, it was a great place to stop to find anything we needed for any birthday, Christmas, or any baby shower. They had anything that any kid needed. It felt like we lost a friend when we lost Geoffrey the Giraffe.
Then it seemed a miracle was happening. Some stores started to reopen. They were not the grandiose, full-fledged stores we were used to. That was okay. They were popping up in malls around the country.
