COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. (WMTV) -The Miracle League of Dane County is raising money to transform a playground at Phoebe Bakken Park into an all-inclusive space where children with disabilities can play alongside other kids.
The project became a mission for board member Mandi Welk after she witnessed a mother lifting her son away from the playground because he could not access it with his walker.
“There was a little boy struggling to get into the playground. He had a walker. The mother came and lifted the little guy away from the playground and it broke my heart,” Welk said…
