Lone Gunshot Leaves Man Dead On Hawthorne Street Before Dawn

A man is dead after an early-morning shooting in Minneapolis’ Hawthorne neighborhood, according to police. Officers were called just after 1:18 a.m. Thursday to the area of 31st Avenue North and 4th Avenue on a report of a single gunshot and found the man lying in the street with a life-threatening wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died, authorities said.

According to FOX 9, a 911 caller reported hearing one gunshot followed by someone calling for help before officers arrived. Police located the victim in the street, provided aid and transported him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Minneapolis Police Department told the outlet it is investigating the shooting and has not released information about any possible suspects or arrests.
