Illinois Mom Faces Felony Charges After Opening Fire To Stop Attack On Son

A Tuesday afternoon trip to a Rockford gas station ended in a shooting and the arrest of a 48-year-old mother who claims she was defending her son from an ambush. Monica Moore now faces felony charges following the March 31 incident in the 2200 block of Charles Street.

The chaos began around 5:00 p.m. while Moore was driving her son to a friend’s house. According to court documents, Moore pulled into the gas station and remained in her vehicle while her son went inside.
