According to a post from the Yankton County Sheriff’s Office, at 4:47 p.m., Yankton Dispatch was notified of a vehicle pursuit initiated by the South Dakota Highway Patrol. During the pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle was reportedly driving at speeds exceeding 100 mph.

A Rapid City man died Thursday morning in a single-vehicle crash five miles east of Scenic. According to a news release from the SD Department of Public Safety, at 6:57 a.m., the driver was traveling eastbound on South Dakota Highway 44 near mile marker 92, when he failed to negotiate a curve.
