Comedian Eugene Mirman Recovering After Fiery Car Crash in New Hampshire

Eugene Mirman, known for his role as Gene Belcher on Fox’s long-running animated series Bob’s Burgers, is reportedly doing “relatively alright” following a serious car accident that left his vehicle engulfed in flames.

Mirman was hospitalized after the crash on Tuesday at the Bedford Toll Plaza in New Hampshire. According to his recent Instagram post, he was pulled from his Lucid Gravity car by heroic bystanders before first responders arrived. The comedian expressed deep gratitude to those who helped him as well as the medical staff caring for his injuries.

“I am extraordinarily thankful to the heroic people that pulled me from the car and to the warm, kind and talented staff at the hospital that cared for me and got me on the mend!” Mirman wrote, sharing a photo of himself bandaged and holding a piece of artwork that reads “Life is an Adventure.” He added, “I am thankful beyond words to be here and doing relatively alright, all things considered.”

Mirman also took a moment to thank fans and friends for their outpouring of support. Although his phone was not with him, limiting his ability to respond, he humorously noted the temptation to reply with, “I’d love to be on your podcast.” He concluded his message by encouraging everyone to take care of themselves.

New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte and her security team were among those who assisted Mirman at the scene. The governor publicly acknowledged the bravery of the trooper and bystanders, sending prayers for Mirman’s full recovery.

Bob’s Burgers is currently in its 16th season, with Mirman continuing to bring life to the beloved middle child of the Belcher family. Fans and colleagues alike are wishing him a smooth and steady recovery following this frightening incident.
