VOORHEESVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A sunset luminary walk is taking place in support of suicide prevention awareness. All donations for the event will go toward research, education programs, advocacy, and support for those affected by suicide in the Capital Region.
Hike Away the Dark will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on April 11 at Thacher State Park in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Capital Region NY Chapter.

Check-in will be at the visitor center, and a free shuttle will then take participants to the Overlook for lawn games, booths from various organizations, and local food trucks. Luminary bags can also be decorated to honor a loved one or attendees’ own mental health journey.
