SAVANNAH, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A Sylvania man and Richmond Hill man were sentenced to federal prison for a fraud scheme involving fake transportation invoices.
For the roles in the scheme:
- Philip Charles Smith, 41, of Richmond Hill, was sentenced to 27 months in prison and ordered to serve three years of supervised release upon completion of his prison term.
- Antonio J. Evans Sr., 41, of Sylvania, was sentenced to 13 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.
U.S. District Court Judge Lisa Godbey Wood also ordered Smith and Evans to be held equally responsible for paying $821,899 in restitution.
