Birmingham Police makes two arrests in March murder case

Almost a month after his murder, the Birmingham Police Department (BPD) has made an arrest in the case of 23-year-old Cornelius Lee Evans’ murder.

Two Birmingham men have been charged in connection to Evans’ death on Thursday, March 5. 21-year-old Terrell Scott and 19-year-old Japarius Maxwell were both taken into custody on April 1 for Capital Murder (Robbery) without problem.

BPD found Evans on the ground in the 4600 Roscoe Ave N area around 8:49 p.m. while responding to a ShotSpotter alert. Birmingham Fire and Rescue took him to UAB Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries…
