BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — An 88-year-old woman is dead after a crash involving a Kern County Sheriff’s deputy and the vehicle she was riding in. The Sheriff’s Department has declined to answer our questions as the case is still under investigation.
Lerdo Highway and Magnolia Avenue is a two-way stop. 17 News’ Connor Dore talked to a neighbor who said he saw the entire crash happen, and that he saw the deputy blow a stop sign.
A photo taken by a nearby homeowner shows the two vehicles on the side of the road. The sheriff’s vehicle side door is smashed and the front of the Nissan Altima is completely crushed.
The accident happened around 1 p.m. March 22. The deputy and the two people in the Altima were taken to the hospital…
