An electric vehicle caught fire while charging Tuesday evening at a Pittsburgh-area shopping plaza, damaging several nearby vehicles.
No one was hurt, even though the fire happened in a busy shopping area.
The fire started around 7:30 p.m. Police said a woman was sitting in the vehicle when she heard a loud pop and saw smoke. She got out of the car and called 911.
According to CBS affiliate KDKA, witness Robert Zedo said he first thought the car was overheating before he turned and saw white smoke moving toward him. He said the flames appeared to grow after each explosion…
